This annual award recognizes one standout Louisiana auto dealer for their business success and impact in the community they reside. LADA’s members nominate dealers from across the state and LADA’s board of directors selects the winner. “Eric Lane has long been a valuable member of the dealer community, offering mentorship and fostering camaraderie in our industry,” said Coulter McMahen, president and CEO of LADA. “Even more impactful though, is his commitment to service with organizations throughout the capital region. Eric Lane is a testament to all that Louisiana’s auto dealers provide to our state and communities.” According to LADA, Lane’s career in the auto business started when he was 15 years old working as a janitor for his late father’s dealership. He worked in various positions in the fixed operations department during school breaks and started selling cars part-time as a college student. “I never dreamed I’d ever win it,” Lane said. “I just was so proud of him for winning this award, which is such a prestigious award. I had just dreamed one day, maybe I would, but I never really thought it would happen.” Gerry Lane is also a big supporter of BRProud’s yearly Clear the Shelters event in August. The event helps find fur-ever homes for animals in Baton Rouge area shelters.
